Neobank Toolkit

Many banking apps are built on a separate system that pulls its data from the bank's core in nightly file transfers. The result is a balance that sometimes does not match the branch, and requests filed in the app that the back office knows nothing about. Dara's customer app and portal run directly on the same modules that branch staff work with. Account opening, funds transfers, financing requests and case tracking all run through the same core and the same Process Engine.

Key capabilities

  1. 01Account opening and digital identity verification
  2. 02Cards overview and account turnover by date range, with Excel export
  3. 03Funds transfers with a one-time password and a request idempotency key
  4. 04Financing requests and case tracking from within the app
  5. 05Real-time notifications on five channels from a single outbound point
01

One core for customers and staff

The statement a customer sees in the app is built from the same vouchers the accountant sees in reports. If branch staff place a hold, the customer's available balance in the app drops immediately, with no waiting for a nightly sync.

  • Statements from the same vouchers
  • Up-to-date available balance
  • No nightly sync
02

From request to follow-up

A financing request made in the app opens the same case that would be opened at the branch, and it moves through the same work queues. Customers can see which stage their case has reached, and if a document is missing, a notification lets them know.

  • Cases shared with the back office
  • Case stage visible to the customer
  • Notifications about missing documents

Platform modules behind this solution

Qard al-Hasan Deposit

Finance & Payments

Deposit accounts from opening, with account numbers built from a numbering pattern and a check digit, through to joint ownership, collateral holds and customer statements. Each deposit category's behavior is set with policy switches.

Wallet

Finance & Payments

A customer wallet with a unique 16-digit number for top-ups, withdrawals, transfers and holds on funds. The balance is always read from the Financial Core; the wallet itself has no balance column.

Financing

Credit

Each loan file moves through this module from application and document review to disbursement, installments and settlement. Every product is tied to one of the Islamic contracts and to that contract's own calculator.

Notifications & Messaging

Customer Engagement

Every message the platform sends to customers goes out through this module: SMS, email, push notifications, the in-app inbox and one-time passwords (OTP). Other modules send only the event type and its data.

Identity

Identity & Access

User sign-in and access-token issuance for the entire platform happen in this module and nowhere else.
