We need a product owner for the Loan & Credit Product Builder and the Scoring & Eligibility and Collateral modules: someone with first-hand knowledge of Islamic contracts and of how a bank or fund grants financing, who can turn that knowledge into clear requirements for the technical team.
Dara's Loan & Credit Product Builder covers fifteen Islamic contracts, each with a dedicated calculator, and builds installment schedules on the Solar Hijri calendar. Behind each of these capabilities are dozens of small decisions: which installment carries the profit, the day from which a penalty accrues, or the stage at which collateral is released.
The product owner for this area needs to be able to read bylaws and regulatory circulars, go through them with users in the credit department, and turn them into rules that are clear to developers and can be tested. You will work with the engineering team, finance specialists and bank users.
Responsibilities
- Define and prioritize requirements for the Financing, Collateral and Scoring & Eligibility modules
- Turn financing bylaws and regulatory circulars into clear, testable rules
- Design application, review, approval and disbursement processes in the Process Designer
- Write acceptance scenarios for installment and penalty calculations and arrears classification
- Work with the finance team to design the voucher template for each operation
- Take part in demo and implementation sessions and gather feedback from users
Skills and requirements
- Experience in the credit department of a bank, credit institution or Qard al-Hasan fund, or on a product team building lending software
- Detailed knowledge of the Islamic contracts commonly used in Iran's banking system and how their profit and installments are calculated
- Familiarity with Central Bank of Iran regulations on financing, arrears and provisioning
- Ability to write precise requirements and acceptance scenarios
- Familiarity with basic accounting concepts and vouchers
- Communication skills to work with bank users and the technical team at the same time
Nice to have
- Experience with process modeling tools
- Familiarity with credit scoring models
- Experience with credit card or buy now, pay later (BNPL) products
