DevOps Engineer

We need a DevOps engineer to run the build and deployment pipeline for Dara's services on Docker and GitLab CI and to maintain our SQL Server and PostgreSQL databases.

The Dara platform is made up of independent .NET and Node.js services, each with its own Docker image and build pipeline. The services are exposed through a single gateway, register with the service registry, and send their logs to one central place.

Financial institutions often deploy on their own infrastructure, within their own network and security constraints. Your job is to help make building and deploying services repeatable, documented and reversible, and to keep secrets and configuration out of the code.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and improve the GitLab CI pipeline that builds, tests and releases the services
  • Build and optimize Docker images and compose the services for different environments
  • Install, back up and monitor SQL Server and PostgreSQL
  • Manage secrets and environment configuration outside the code and the repository
  • Set up and maintain centralized logging and service monitoring
  • Document deployment and rollback procedures for each environment
  • Help harden servers and containers

Skills and requirements

  • Hands-on experience with Docker and Docker Compose
  • Experience writing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, preferably GitLab CI
  • Production-level Linux server and network administration
  • Experience maintaining SQL Server or PostgreSQL in production
  • Scripting in Bash or PowerShell
  • Familiarity with logging and monitoring tools such as Elasticsearch, Seq or Prometheus

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with YARP or other reverse proxies
  • Experience deploying to the on-premises infrastructure of financial institutions
  • Familiarity with Redis and RabbitMQ
